Whats On

At the National Trust for Scotland in Glencoe there is always something happening, from children’s events and art exhibitions in the Visitor Centre to community working. From groundbreaking habitat restoration to sustainability seminars.  Browse through the following pages for an update on local and Trust-wide news items, exciting events and stimulating seminars!

As part of our education programme, the National Trust for Scotland at Glencoe offers a full and varied events programme interpreting the natural and cultural heritage that we are lucky enough to have under our protection. From Fungal Forays to Bat walks we have something for everyone.  Our Land Rover Safaris have been a popular addition to the events programme and in 2005 we have expanded these safaris to cover a number of themes, from our general estate tour looking at Geology, history, Gaelic place names and wildlife, to a massacre-themed safari visiting all of the sites involved in the infamous massacre of Glencoe.  From wildlife safaris leaving at dusk to Harry Potter Safaris, a very popular event with the kids!

Speaking of kids…every week day during the school holidays you can join the Countryside Rangers for fun environmental and cultural games, from Orien-tee-ing finding your way around our tree trail, to Adders and Ladders, a giant game of snakes and ladders based on Clan rivalry.

A visit to our visitor centre can be enhanced by watching living history demonstrations, story tellers, plant weavers, musicians, craft fairs and by visiting our photographic and art exhibitions. For ideas of what else is on in the area visit www.clachaig.com
