Each year a fantastic 3000 volunteers assist the Trust with the conservation and preservation of properties all over Scotland. Volunteers provide enormous help to the Trust and there are many openings for volunteers at properties to undertake all kinds of tasks. Working in a voluntary capacity can suit people of all ages who wish to extend their interests, meet new people or learn new skills.

Here at Glencoe we have a volunteer placement programme which is carried out by enthusiastic individuals who are looking to gain both experience and exposure in line with their interests or qualifications. Each year we have 4 volunteers who stay with us for about 6 months and learn new skills and help us to carry out a number of essential tasks, without volunteers our lives would be very much harder at Glencoe!
This year we have people carrying out placements in ecology, education, GIS and practical skills. In addition, we have a number of volunteers locally who work full time and assist us a couple of days a week in jobs such as footpath maintenance and tree nursery work.
For volunteering opportunities contact by email or telephone 01855 811729.
For more information on current placements download Glencoe Student placements doc

Alternatively, if you are interested in volunteering on a short term basis, a number of groups visit Glencoe to carry out practical conservation tasks. These groups include Thistle Camps and Local Conservation Volunteer Groups based throughout Scotland. These groups are also affiliated to BTCV
