Starting on Monday 6th July the new photographic exhibtition will be available to view at the Glencoe Visitor Centre. This month two photographers will share the space; Jan Hamilton and Joe MacRae.
The exhibition will be open most days throughout July during normal visitor centre opening hours (7 days 9:30-17:30)
A little about each of the photographers:
Jan Hamilton's art is influenced by her training as a mathematician and inspired by her sister's patchwork and applique. Using the computer she creates collages of her numerous photo's to interpret the details and landscapes of Argyll. Her tree portraits are a solution to the problem of capturing on camera the magic of standing under a tree and looking up at the pattern of branches and leaves against the light.
Joe MacRae studied photography for 4 years at Stevenson College, Edinburgh where he won the D&AD (Design and Art Direction) 1st Prize for Photography. Joe has now returned to the highlands and is influenced on a day-to-day basis by the unpredictable weather and breathtaking scenery of his homeland Scotland. Whilst living here he is adding to his photographic repertoire and regularly exhibiting his expanding portfolio of work.
