Sustainable Tourism
The Trust is committed to helping and supporting the development of sustainable tourism in Glencoe and Lochaber and is currently working in a number of ways to do this;
- Promoting the Scottish Outdoor Access Code
- Organising the A82 Working Group – looking at improving the quality of parking and viewpoint facilities for visitors along the A82
- Playing a role in the development of the Lochaber Geopark
- Running Seminars and Training on sustainable development and practices
- Partnerships with operators and local businesses
- Participation in Trans-national Nature Based Tourism project
- Supporting a Community led access improvement project - The Glencoe Orbital Route
- Involvement in Management for People – a SNH Planning manual
- Development of Visitor Management techniques
- Managing an eco-friendly visitor centre
- NTS Glencoe was proud to receive a Gold in the Green Tourism Business Scheme
