Three SistersThe Three Sisters form the southern wall of Glencoe, Aonach Dubh, Gearr Aonach and Beinn Fhada. These are really outliers for Bidean Nam Bian (1150m), forever known as the highest hill in Argyll, in spite of county boundary changes. There are a number of routes up onto Bidean, all go through the coires running between the sisters. Starting in the west at Achnambeithach bridge (NN138566) takes you up via Stob Coire nam Beith. In the middle is Coire nan Lochan, starting at the A82(NN170569), it takes you via Stob Coire nan Lochan and then the most easterly going via Coire Gabhail where the MacDonalds are alleged to have hidden their stolen cattle. This takes you to the top of the other Munro in this section, Stob Coire Sgreamhach (1072m). |
